Ingredients

  • 500mL/18 ounces Milk of Choice

  • 400g/14 ounces Organic Bananas (3 average bananas)

  • 70mL/2.5 ounces Extra Virgin Olive Oil (or an oil you enjoy)

  • 50g Organic Hemp Seeds

  • 30g Organic Cacao

  • 1 TBSP Organic Vanilla Extract

  • 1 tsp Sea Salt

  • 250g Sorghum Flour, superfine OR Brown Rice Flour, superfine

  • 100g Organic Maple Sugar (or granulated sweetener of choice)

  • 50g Potato Starch

  • 30g Arrowroot

  • 4 tsp Baking Powder

Directions

  • Turn on your waffle maker so it can heat up whilst you blend the batter. Place the first set of ingredients into your blender and blend until smooth. Then, place the last 5 dry ingredients in and blend again. Yes, the batter comes together that easily. You may need to scrape down the sides and blend one last time.

  • To make life even easier, you can pour batter from your blender directly into the waffle maker. Cook your waffles using you waffle maker’s preferred settings and timings. This batter makes 7 - 8 large waffles in our double waffle maker.

Storage

Do NOT put your leftovers in the fridge. Freeze any leftover waffles you have. To freeze waffles, I like to put them on a baking tray (use parchment to separate layers if you're stacking). I freeze the whole tray and when the waffles are frozen, transfer them to a freezer baggie for long term storage.

To thaw, you can leave your waffles at room-temp for 60 - 90 minutes, or heat in an oven at 375f. Start with 5 minutes and go from there until they're completely thawed. You can also experiment with reheating waffles from frozen using an air fryer. This will add some crunch.

**If you find that you love this waffle, set aside some time to make a double or triple batch so you have something tasty in the freezer ready to go**
