What the heck is going on? Seriously, it's as if the Summer Solstice has sprinkled some awakening dust on my house. Today was about a billion degrees (okay fine, maybe not a billion but the thermometer literally read 100 at one point). My son refused to nap for the first time ever and was practically dancing the jig in his crib for over an hour. By bedtime, he was bleary-eyed but surprisingly chipper. My daughter is still not asleep and it's 9:30 pm.
What gives?! I realize that the summer solstice is the longest day of the year in terms of sunlight hours but it's like the kids took that to heart in a whole new way.
Hoping tomorrow is different... and grateful for some hot water with fresh ginger to soothe the day's rough edges.
