I read this article today from Aussie mom Amity Dry and chuckled. I feel her pain. I have often found myself debating the various challenges of raising a school age kid versus raising a toddler. As my little lady gets more independent, there seem to be infinitely more shades of grey for everything.
"Then there is the dreaded lunch box," Dry writes. "For the first two months I was the mother superior of lunch box packing, loving preparing it the night before, cutting up healthy snacks and coming up with creative sandwiches. Until the novelty wore off and it all came back uneaten, so now it’s a honey sandwich slapped together and some kind of snack in a packet I can throw in quickly."
Poor thing! Between homework, after school activities and playdates, there is no room for lunch drama.
